So, why are minerals important in nutrition supplements?
First of all, a definition of minerals. Minerals are ” nutrients required by the body to help facilitate a multitude of biochemical and physiologic processes necessary for the maintenance of life.* Some of these processes include supporting the health of organs, bones, tissue and the immune system.* Minerals are not synthesized in our bodies; therefore we must acquire them from outside sources.”1
Experts say that the best way to get minerals such as potassium, phosphorous, nitrogen, molybdenum, manganese, magnesium, zinc and others, is to eat food containing these minerals. However, food these days seldom contain enough of these essential minerals or vitamins.
The Farmland is short of minerals because of intensive farming and chemical fertilizers being used. In previous centuries there was flooding of the land, and volcanic and organic debris washed over the farming lands as sediment. Now, there are flood control projects, so this doesn’t occur.
Mineral solutions are extracted from natural mineral formations, a few coming from deep inside the earth – from formations of bio-concentrated minerals. Thousands of years ago, leafy flora and other organic substances richly concentrated the minerals in certain formations. These formations are mined and the minerals are retrieved.
The mineral solutions are available in a very concentrated, sterile liquid so they are easily absorbed.
So, minerals are just as important as vitamins in a Nutrition Supplement.

We left home on the Gold Coast at 5.15 in the morning, heading south along the Pacific highway towards Sydney.
Twelve hours later we arrived at our hotel in Paramatta, located about thirty minutes from the Telstra Stadium where we would see, possibly for the last time in Oz, the greatest rock n’ roll band in the world, ‘The Rolling Stones’
We were hungry and too excited to stay put, so after checking in we went for a wander down the road and back to see how far it is and came across a whole street of Chinese restaurants.
I kept thinking, ‘Mick and the boys are probably here already and could be staying somewhere near the Stadium, maybe not that far from here.
What would I do if, coming from around the corner of a dark street, Mick and his coach were suddenly jogging towards me ??’ I’d probably stare and be lost for words, then maybe Mick would say, ‘wot you lookin’at ???’ Read the rest of this entry »
Nutrition supplements seem to have taken away my hay fever symptoms. For years I used to always sneeze a lot when spring came along. The spring flowers would bloom and so would my nose:-) Sometimes I sneezed so much, my eyes would be running and the only way I could relieve it, was to take an anti-histamine, then wait for it to take affect. It was difficult to do any work in the garden, and mowing lawns was definitely a no no.
That went on for years until I started taking Vemma nutrition supplements, and now I rarely sneeze or get those awful sinus headaches. I haven’t done anything different apart from taking the supplements, so I’m guessing that’s what has helped.
Mangosteen juice supplements are very popular because of the high amount of antioxidants found in the mangosteen. As you’ve probably read already, our bodies have to contend with something called “free radicals” attacking our body cells every second of every day. And, antioxidants work to repair the damage done by these free radicals.
There are natural chemical substances within the mangosteen called xanthones, which are very powerful antioxidants. Xanthones have been studied for their medicinal potential and demonstrate a number of pharmaceutical properties. Xanthones are more powerful antioxidants than vitamins are. The mangosteen fruit contains a whole family of xanthones ( 40 of them ).
The xanthones have been the subject of intense research. They are found in a select number of rain forest plants, but are more abundant in the pericarp (rind) of the mangosteen.
According to professional journals such as “Free Radical Research” and “Journal of Pharmacology”, and the “Indian Journal of Experimental Biology”, these xanthones have a effect of cardiovascular health, are naturally antibiotic, anti viral and anti-inflammatory.
An article by a doctor in the Health News states that Mangosteen has positive effects on every system in our body. She says that “Mangosteen often helps to alleviate pain and stiffness in inflammatory situations, such as carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, and the general wear and tear on joints and muscles”.
The following video tells a short of my experience with taking Mangosteen Juice along with vitamins and minerals.
